Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility
Sustainability and making a positive impact on our community has become a central focus at the Denver Christkindlmarket, reflecting a growing awareness of environmental impact and corporate social responsibility (CSR). These efforts not only enhance the festive atmosphere but also ensure that the holiday celebrations align with broader environmental goals, creating a more sustainable and responsible holiday experience for all. We are also a proud Denver Green Certified event.

Reducing Waste
To lower our carbon footprint and waste at the market, we use organically decomposable agave cups and our beloved commemorative mugs and Steins. We also have a water wagon on site that provides free filtered drinking water for all patrons.
To reduce food waste, we work with local food waste programs to donate unused food to those in need.
We like to further emphasize waste reduction by providing recycling stations and encouraging the use of reusable shopping bags and containers.

School Partnerships
Supported by the German Cultural Foundation, we host an annual School Days at the Christkindlmarket, providing an interactive holiday experience for local students. Students also receive a stipend to spend while in the Market.
In 2025, we are also partnering with the talented students from MSU Denver’s School of Hospitality, who brought festive creativity into their curriculum by designing interactive displays that honor the rich history of the Market.
